December 7, 2025 - Deacon Tim Darnell preached on the Christian view of works. Ephesians 2:8-10 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Works do not gain our salvation but rather are our response to Christ living within us. We can do nothing to earn our place in heaven. Christ's sacrifice and our believe in Him does it all. But also the Bible says in James 2:20 that faith without works is dead. As Christians we are compelled from within to be the hands and feet of the Lord here on Earth. We need to act positively when an opportunity to do the good work God has prepared in advance for us to do presents itself.
November 30, 2025 - Deacon Tim Darnell preached on the many ways we are called to serve. Even our paying jobs are providing a service. Do you work with a grateful heart? Giving of yourself is serving. It costs nothing to be nice. We are asked to serve humbly in love and to expect nothing in return. We are challenged to be more like Christ. A willing heart can be used by God in service.

November 23, 2025 - Deacon Tim Darnell's message was about the founding principles of our nation and their basis in the old and new testaments. It was focused on the many ways we are blessed to be able to gather in peace to worship, and to enjoy the freedoms protected by our constitution. He also reminded us that our nation was founded on a national work ethic and our personal accountability to God.
Exodus 20:13, Matthew 22:39, Ecclesiastes 3:13, Genesis 12:1-3, Hebrews 9:27, Psalms 100:4-5
November 16, 2025 - Brother David Boone challenged us this morning to consider the excuses we make to God and what that says about the priorities in our lives. We get a daily invitation to do things for God. Have you said "No" to God?
Luke 14:15-23 is Jesus's parable about the invitation to a great feast. It's really about God's invitation to salvation. Consider the excuses everyone made and the blessings they missed. Satan is the master of excuses. Nothing in our life should be more important than God.
Luke 9: 57-62 talks about the excuses men made when invited to follow Jesus. His disciples found no need to go back home first. They dropped their work and followed Him. Remember God will not ask of you more than you can handle with his help.
November 9, 2025 - Brother David Booth filled the pulpit today with a message based on Matthew 19:16-27 and the similar scripture in Mark 10:17-28. The question is "What is keeping you from God?" The rich young man left Jesus distraught because he couldn't give up his riches and position in life. What are we worshiping before God? What are our idols? We may be feeling upright and noble when we are only following the commandments about our relationships with others. The important commandments are the first four about our relationship with God. Follow those and all else will easily fall into place.
